Should you sign up for the Passion Pursuit study?

Twice a year I run a group study of Passion Pursuit, by Linda Dillow and Juli Slattery. Take this fun quiz to find out if you should sign up!

Do you believe that you have the power to build a house of intimacy by God's design? Nope. My husband is the leader, and I don't influence him. I suppose I do. I know that I influence him in positive ways. That's power, right? I have power. I'm in charge, but I don't think it has anything to do with intimacy.

Do you believe that God wants you to pursue passion in your marriage? No. I'm just not that kind of woman. Yay! Tell me more! Seriously? Is this just another male conspiracy to convince me to have more sex?

Do you believe that God's opinion is that sex is holy, a gift to help married couples enjoy oneness and pleasure? Whoa. No. The words "holy" and "sex" don't even belong in the same sentence. That makes sense. Sometimes when my husband and I make love, I think I've felt God's presence. Nope. Sex is just about physical pleasure. Stop trying to make it into something else.

Do you believe that your sexuality involves a spiritual battle between truth and lies? If that's the case, then Satan has won that battle. My sexual problems are beyond repair. Interesting idea. Does that mean that my shame and woundedness don't have to define my sexuality? Does that mean that there's hope? Satan doesn't give a hoot about our sexuality.

Do you believe that sexual differences between you and your husband invite you to choose to be a servant lover or a selfish lover? Sex is for my husband so is always selfless for me. I don't understand what it means to be a selfish lover or have sexual desires of my own. Our sexual differences are part of the fun! They invite us to learn about each other more deeply and be more intimate. Our sexual differences are annoying. God has some explaining to do, if you ask me.

Do you believe that pure pleasure is found when a Christian couple discovers what is okay in the bedroom for them personally? I just want a list of dos and don'ts to hand to my husband. I love that only my husband and I know what we do in the bedroom. God doesn't care what we do in the bedroom. Everything goes, unless I don't want it to do it.

Do you believe that both temptation and God's strength to stand against it are guarantees? I'm a woman, so I don't experience sexual temptation. Nor do I confront my husband about his sexual sin. I'm so glad my husband and I are on each other's team when we struggle with temptation. I don't want to know about my husband's temptations, and I'm certainly not going to tell him about mine.

Do you believe that forgiveness is a secret, powerful choice that paves the way for deep intimacy? As a Christian woman, I have to forgive my husband's sin. It isn't a choice. I'm supposed to do it. Forgiving can be hard, and trust needs to be rebuilt--but I have so much peace when I choose not to let my husband's sin have so much control over my life. Sure, I forgive--but I make sure my husband knows that I don't forget.

Do you believe that pursuing passion is a lifestyle of love? Ugh. I'm willing to have sex, but is it really necessary to have to think about it all the time? I just want to keep sex in the bedroom where it belongs. Making passion a priority might help me understand how much of a gift sex is. Sex isn't so important in marriage that I need to pursue passion.

Do you believe that God wants you to be a smokin' hot mama, just like the woman in the Song of Songs? *Sigh* *Write "get hot" on your to-do list* *Do a happy dance* *Roll eyes*

This quiz is just for fun. Passion Pursuit is a great study for many Christian wives–if they are in generally healthy marriages.
