Honeycomb & Spice: A Community for Wives

I’m a big advocate of women helping other women. Even when it comes to sexual intimacy, we can encourage, support, and learn from other Christian wives in community as we all work to grow.

A search for community

God has been nudging me toward thinking about community for several years, so I’ve been looking for ways to incorporate it into this ministry.

I started off with Facebook groups. While they can work, they aren’t always the best option. They leave out wives who share Facebook accounts with their husbands or who are concerned that a glitch might reveal their private communication to friends and family. On top of that, the ever-changing Facebook algorithms for what we see in the news feed, frequent notifications, and the increasing presence of ads make it an unpredictable and distracting platform.

I’ve been praying, researching, and planning for a few years. Several features emerged as I was considering what mattered in building a place for women to connect with each other in talking about sexual intimacy:

  • A community where we can be authentic yet also have some control over how much of our identity we share. I wanted to steer away from the typical kinds of usernames you find on most discussion forums, but I didn’t want anyone to have to use their real first and last name, either.
  • A private place away from the eyes of others. With some online communities, the public can see a list of members and even see what they’ve posted. I didn’t want that.
  • An option to dig a bit deeper within the community. We all have our specific concerns, and it helps to be able to connect more deeply with others who can walk alongside us because it’s their journey, too.

I found what I was looking for in Mighty Networks. While I’m still learning how to do some things, it provides all the features on my list.

Honeycomb & Spice

I’m excited to announce the launch of Honeycomb & Spice, an online community where Christian wives can encourage each other as they grow in sexual intimacy.

The Song of Songs invites us to both sweetness and spice in our marriages. We see a man and a woman who enjoy sex with all their senses and who embrace the freedom of the marriage bed.

Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride; milk and honey are under your tongue. The fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon. You are a garden locked up, my sister, my bride; you are a spring enclosed, a sealed fountain. Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates with choice fruits, with henna and nard, nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with every kind of incense tree, with myrrh and aloes and all the finest spices. Song of Songs 4:11-14

Although The Forgiven Wife is for wives who have struggled with sex, this new community is for all Christian wives who want support as they grow sexually—whether they struggle, have a husband who struggles with sex, or are already enjoying sexy and spicy sweetness with their husbands.

The community is named Honeycomb & Spice to always remind us of what God invites us to enjoy in sexual intimacy.

The general community provides opportunities to have conversations about a variety of subjects related to sexual intimacy, ranging from figuring out what’s okay in the bedroom to sex tips to past sexual trauma and more. Within this community, we also have private circles for women who want support in a specific area. They are communities within a community.

Join us!

I’ve created a new website and social media accounts to support the community. Or, you can link directly to the community here.

You’ll find a few conversations already started, thanks to some awesome women who have been helping me learn the system.

Guarding the privacy of the community requires me to use a premium plan. It has a cost, so there is a small membership fee.

Month: $1.99/month
Annual: $19.99/year

Women who are already members of my First Steps or Women in the Middle Facebook groups will have free membership for the remainder of this year. Information has been posted in those groups on Facebook.

Launch Party!

To celebrate our new community, we’re having a launch party (a community-wide online chat) on Tuesday, May 21, at 7 pm central US time. Event details are posted in the community.

You are not alone.

Whether sex is difficult or you are just trying to make a good sex life even better, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. I’d love to have you join us.

I hope you’ll join me at Honeycomb & Spice!

  1. Unfortunately I cannot afford this right now, but hopefully once my husband has work again I can make it happen!
