Stressed and Overwhelmed?

Do you feel stressed or overwhelmed? Here's a great list of resources to help you feel encouraged and to rest in God.

As I wrote a couple weeks ago, I’m taking a bit of a break to give me time and space as Big Guy and I deal with an unexpected and difficult situation.

I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the prayers, encouragement, and support I have received. Every time I hit a low point, someone reaches out in some way that reminds me that as the Body of Christ, we truly are the arms and feet of Jesus. Big Guy and I are so grateful. Thank you.

Much of the time I feel stressed and overwhelmed—and then those feelings suddenly lift. I know in those moments I am being prayed for. God continues to make His presence known for both my husband and me.

As I’ve thought about what I’d like to share with you this week, it occurred to me that some of you are probably feeling stressed and overwhelmed, too. Why not share with you what I’m looking at for myself?

This week I have a list of blog posts to encourage us all in times when we feel stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. I hope these posts encourage you as they do me. In fact, I’m feeling less stressed and overwhelmed already!

  1. Dear Chris, God bless you and your family. Praying now with tears because you are always so vulnerable with your readers.
Praying as I go to work now that your situation may improve enormously but also that you will all know your loving Heavenly Father in this valley.and as in Worth Beyond Rubies the thief will be stopped from robbing your joy.
Thank you. God richly bless you as you are enriching so many.

  2. Hi Chris,
You and your husband are in my prayers. I hope your situation turns around soon and is even better than before.
I am so glad that your marriage is strong during this time.

Thank you for all of the Blog posts that you share.

  3. A wise friend years ago, reminded me that even a difficult transition isn’t a problem, but rather an opportunity. It was soothing words even though it felt like I was enduring urgent times.

Sometimes it feels as if we are also experiencing uncertain times even now, as my wife is having serious problems with her knees and her eyes as she will have to stop working soon.

I did say a prayer for you and your husband as he pursues new opportunities and that opportunity is the right fit. I also prayed for the Holy Spirit to cover and comfort you and your whole family with his love so you can experience the soothing effect of his presence knowing that your husband doesn’t have to make a hasty future career choice.

    1. Thank you for the prayer. I’ve been trying to think of this as an opportunity. We’re going to have some transition struggles, but I do know that it’s just a season in our lives.

  4. My wife is having an affair.
    She is ambivalent.
Should i give her time to break up with him (other man)?

    1. I think you should be talking about this with a pastor or counselor, not asking a stranger on the internet who doesn’t know you, your wife, or your marriage.
